I'm an abstract expressionist artist drawn to the layers, emotions, and messy beauty of the human experience. With a background in graphic design, I naturally pay attention to how things feel visually—how shapes, balance, and movement can guide a viewer through a piece. My process is both intuitive and conceptual, often resulting in a sense of controlled chaos that brings energy and spontaneity to the work. I let each mark lead to the next, building up textures, playing with geometric forms, bold patterns, and whatever materials feel right in the moment. I love to experiment and follow curiosity—it’s where the magic happens. At the heart of it, I’m trying to express what can’t always be said out loud. Through rich color, dynamic strokes, and layered forms, I create work that invites people in—to feel something, reflect, and connect.
All About Me [ The Journey ]
My artistic journey began in a small town in western Kansas, where my German heritage, curiosity, and a deep connection to my surroundings helped shape my creative voice. I earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design with an emphasis in painting from Fort Hays State University, launching my career as a graphic designer. Over time, my passion for fine art was reignited, leading me to exhibit nationally and internationally and receive recognition in both design and fine art.

After living in the Dallas/Fort Worth and Kansas City areas, I made a transformative move to Sarasota, Florida, in 2020. Just two years later, I brought a longtime vision to life by opening Define Art Gallery and Studio—my personal creative space and a major professional milestone.

Beyond the studio, I’m a juried member of the National Association of Women Artists (NAWA) and its Florida Chapter, and I served as Membership Chair for Women Contemporary Artists during the 2024–2025 term. I'm also the founder of SLAMD, a curated collective of artists committed to enriching the cultural vibrancy of Sarasota and Manatee counties. Through these efforts, I aim to foster collaboration, amplify artistic voices, and contribute to a thriving creative community.

My work is held in private and corporate collections across the U.S., and I’m always evolving—seeking new ways to connect, create, and leave a meaningful impact through art.
