This was inspired by my husband’s tour of duty with the US Army. He had marked inside the brim of his field cap, the days in the “sandbox” as he calls it. The days spent over the pond and the days he would look forward to coming home. One single mark documents the routine of a day, but many over a course of time creates anticipation, hope, struggle, strength, a past and a future.
