In Syzygy, I explore the poetic tension between alignment and chaos—those fleeting moments when things appear to line up, even if just for a breath. Using acrylic, ink, and fragments of newsprint layered on raw canvas, I sought to create a visual language of orbits, repetition, and resonance. The circular motifs echo lunar cycles, symbolic of time, emotion, and renewal, while the exposed texture of the unprimed canvas speaks to vulnerability and imperfection. Bits of printed text emerge and fade like half-remembered thoughts, adding a layer of narrative tension. This piece, like much of the Am I Lunar or Just Going In Circles collection, invites the viewer to consider whether they are spiraling, orbiting, or aligning—perhaps all at once.
