BOXES FOR THE FORGOTTEN I and II (diptych)

This diptych is a layered reflection on memory, loss, and the quiet persistence of hope. Built with a tactile blend of texture, vintage sheet music, handwritten fragments, and distressed surfaces, the piece evokes the feeling of things stored away—keepsakes of meaning waiting to be remembered. The collaged elements, partially obscured and eroded, echo how time reshapes the stories we tell ourselves and what we choose to hold onto. The raised contours resemble forgotten landscapes—emotional terrain tucked inside mental boxes. Faint words like “hope,” “fly,” "time" and “what if” emerge from the surface like whispers, inviting viewers to search between the layers for their own forgotten dreams or buried truths. It asks: What parts of ourselves have we boxed away? And what might happen if we let them out?
