Proceeding Without the Instructions is focused on the idea that life rarely gives us a clear set of directions. The structured lines, repeated marks, and fragmented forms suggest an underlying plan, while the layered and disrupted surface reflects all the ways we adapt when things don’t unfold as expected. For me, this painting is about learning to trust what we’ve gained along the way, moving forward without having every answer and discovering that sometimes the unexpected path becomes the better one.
